Recipe of Sweet and Sour lamb cutlets in the style of Ms G’s lamb ribs.

Anyone who’s ever been to Ms G’s has tried the famous lamb ribs there. They’re the must have dish. The cut they use, however, has a very high content of fat. It is not the healthiest cut to order. And for this reason, my sweet and sour lamb cutlets are a healthy alternative. I’ve ordered them from with the cap on as a little bit of fat gives the cutlets some extra flavour!

Marinade for 6 lamb cutlets

- 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce

- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce

- 1 tablespoon of mirin

- 2 tablespoon of honey

- 1 teaspoon of cumin

Combine all the ingredients together, mix them well and simply coat the lamb cutlets. IMG_6911

I leave the meat to rest overnight so the meat can absorb all the flavours.
Cook your lamb cutlets without the marinade and add the marinade once both sides of the cutlets are seared.

Serve them with some lime wedges and mint on top!

I ordered my lamb cutlets from and was truly amazed by how much difference there is between lamb cutlets from my local supermarket and lamb cutlets from a real butcher. EvenMonsieur, who wasn’t eating much lamb before we met, could tell this was quality lamb! We will definitely reorder from butcherman!

They have a competition running at the moment on their facebook page. Enter to win AUD 240 worth of Pete Evans cookware plus a voucher worth AUD 300 to get awesome meat from butcherman! Competition ends on September 27th at 4.59pm AEST.
